Hector, situated in Renville County along the route that was known as the Yellowstone Trail, is located in West Central Minnesota approximately 28 miles west of Glencoe, 44 miles southeast of Willmar and 80 miles west of the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area.  Access is provided via US Highway 212, State Highway 4, and County Road 34.  8,300 vehicles

pass through Renville County each day on Highway 212.  Twin Cities and Western Railroad provides rail service through the City.
